Tracey Zeeck explains the redCENTER Lounge Fundraiser – in detail.

Well, here we are, just four days from the kickoff of the tenth annual deadCENTER Film Festival. Think about it – that means just ten short years ago, we didn’t even have a film festival in Oklahoma City. For those of you too young to remember, there used to be a lot of Pictionary and charades played to fill the second week in June. And lots of drinking. Fortunately that is no longer the case. Except for the drinking. There’s still lots of drinking. And the occasional game of Pictionary, if only for old times’ sake. But I digress.

As a member of the board of directors, a faithful fan of the festival, and a self-proclaimed “creativity junkie”, I can promise you that deadCENTER does not disappoint. In my opinion, it’s one of the best things about OKC, and it only gets better year after year.

Take this year for example. It’s our tenth anniversary. An occasion to celebrate. So we are piggybacking our first-ever VIP fundraiser on the already-outstanding, annual kickoff party and outdoor screening. Pretty smart, eh? (Thanks again, Anthony McDermid!)

But instead of walking the red carpet, we’ll actually be workin’ the red restaurant…Red Primesteak. On Wednesday evening, June 9th, from 7-9pm, while thousands of Mat Hoffman fans and film enthusiasts flock to the block party outside Red Primesteak, (we’re shutting down Broadway Avenue, between 4th and 5th Streets), hundreds more will be partying it up inside redCENTER Lounge.

The film for our outdoor screening is “The Birth of Big Air”, a mind-blowing documentary about local superhero and X-Games founder, Mat Hoffman. It just screened at Tribeca and won’t be seen by the rest of the world until July.

So, NYC. OKC. Rest of the world. In that order.

Mat Hoffman will be at redCENTER Lounge. He wants to see you there. He wants you to buy your ticket now and bring extra money to bid on our killer auction items. He said that you can drink your faces off and he will then let you ride his personal bike that he named deadCENTER down a three-story ramp. He will teach you to do jumps, and then offer you a branded sports drink afterward.*

As you may or may not know, there are also some seriously famous names affiliated with this film. One, in particular, is so famous that we’re having trouble tracking him down in London to get his flight info so we can confirm his attendance. I can’t tell you who he is, but his name rhymes with “Mike Bones”. Like I said, it’s not official, so that’s why I made up that name. Because I am sneaky and clever.

Back to the party….

We’re throwing this party to raise money for deadCENTER so they can continue to rock faces off of Oklahoma Cityans for the next 10 years.

redCENTER Lounge information:

Individual tickets are $100. Drink, eat, party, mingle, bid on some auction items, enjoy the AC, and tell everyone you partied with famous people. You also get a reserved seat outside for the screening of the Birth of Big Air.

Inside booths (written in plural, although only one remains) are $1000. Five folks get into the party, you have a dedicated server, you get five seats together outside AND a pair of All Access Passes for the festival! Want to do better than that? OK, then try this one on…

Streetside Lounge Pits (two left) for $1500. These include L-shaped sofa sections on the patio at Red for six, dedicated service all night. You get to stay put for the party and the film since the screen is set up within your line of sight. All that, plus you get four All-Access Passes for the festival! Just don’t be surprised if the street party people come up asking for your autograph. (Just kidding, we have security for that!)

I know you’re wowed, but the auction items will completely knock your socks off…We have everything from a $500 On A Whim gift certificate; to VIP backstage tour for the TV show The Big Bang TheoryChef Mark Jason Ridener for in-home demo and cooking session; live in-home entertainment by the Cami Stinson Trio! (Cami & crew will also be performing inside the party!); a Dennis Johnson painting; Hair, makeup & photo shoot starring Timothy Fields, Alex Mendez and Erick Gfeller… and so much more!

So, please go to and buy your tickets so you can come celebrate with us! Ten years of anything is a really big deal. I’m so proud of who we are, where we were, and what we’ve become in such a short time. Join us and help deadCENTER get a little extra bank. If you have any questions, PLEASE feel free to email at !

See you at redCENTER Lounge!
