The Spring Intern will work with the Festival Director and Executive Director to coordinate and support every aspect of planning the film festival in June. While an interest in film is a plus, this position is a BUSINESS position, requiring great organizational and multi-tasking skills. If you are interested in managing a non-profit or running your own business, this is a great internship opportunity.
TERM: Spring Semester, 2012, Mid-January through late May
CREDIT: the internship is unpaid, but can be done for college credit hours through the college or university

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support Festival Director with logistics of planning festival
- Create press releases and manage media campaigns
- Support Programmer and Program Coordinator
- Act as liaison between festival and local universities
- Organize and distribute posters across the metro area
- Promoting deadCENTER on social media
- Delivering passes and bags to sponsors and pass holders
- Other related duties and activities, to be determined in collaboration with the Festival Executive Director
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Fluent in Microsoft Word, Excel, Facebook, Twitter and YouTube
- Knowledge and interest in filmmaking, film formats
- Must have a car and valid driver’s license
- Attention to detail and the ability to multi-task under deadline
- Ability to work both as a group and independently
- Excellent written and verbal skills
